Richard Marks, CPA, CGMA, is Director of Tax Services at Capstone Financial Advisors. In his role, he serves as Capstone’s internal accountant, oversees technology, and works heavily with the compliance team. Best of all, though, is the opportunity he has to help people reduce their tax burden.

With more than 37 years of experience, Rich calls on his knowledge from many roles in the field. He has served as Director of Tax and Business Services for H&R Block and as a partner in the accounting firm Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser, LLP.
Invested in your future
Rich has always enjoyed working with numbers. Even in high school, he saw a career in finance and taxes as a way to help others. It’s not just the ability to support clients and colleagues, though, that he finds so gratifying. While it may seem hard to believe in the tax field, another of Rich’s favorite aspect of the job is the creativity.

Building community
Rich is actively involved in his local community. He is serving his third term as Alderman of the 2nd Ward in the City of Geneva. Rich is also the past chair of the Finance Council at St. Peters Church in Geneva.
Rich is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Economics from Benedictine University.
